The only hill
station of Assam and the headquarter of the North Kachar Hills Autonomous
District Council. The city lies at an altitude of 3,000 ft from sea level.
Jatinga, the peak of Haflong Hill is full of blue vandas, a lovely sky blue
orchid, only of its kind in the world.
The bird mystery of Jatinga is a fascinating annual feature (sept – oct).
Come September and you will see thousand of birds fly and flutter at Jatinga
for the last time. From the elevated watch tower you observe these featherly
creatures yield to their death wish and then they downy plumages dropping
down in a heap.
Haflong has two lakes to offer adventure lovers for boating.
The local language for the region is Dimashi.

By Road – Govt. and private bus service is available to and from
Diphu, Nagaon. Dimapur, Silchar, Lamding etc.
