It is a
gentle trekking in the Neora Valley Nature Reserve to Rachela Pass. Neora
Valley Nature Reserve is one of the last remaining pristine ecosystems of
the Eastern Himalaya with its incredible bio-diversity, and it is the home
to many rare and endangered, flora, fauna and avi-fauna. This trek initiates
from Lava and the trail extends through the richly forested hills and
valleys to reach the 3152 Mts high, Rachela Pass at the Indo-Bhutan border.
For birdwatchers this trek is enjoyable during the spring time.
Day 01: Arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)
and transferred to Kalimpong. Evening free to explore the local market.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 02: Morning visit Monastery and Kalimpong Bazaar. Afternoon drive to
Lava (2100m). Overnight at Forest Bungalow or Private Lodge.
Day 0: Trek begins from Lava and we proceed towards

Day 06: Trek back to Lava. Overnight in Forest Bungalow or Private Lodge.
Day 07: Drive back to a local Farm House, evening free. Overnight in Samthar
Farm House.
Day 08: Drive via Teesta Valley and tea gardens to Darjeeling. Overnight in
Hotel.
Day 09: Early morning visit Tiger Hill for sunrise view over Khanchenjunga
range, Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery. Post breakfast visit the HMI,
Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Tibetan refugee self help camp. Evening free.
Overnight in Hotel.
Day 10: Drive to Bagdogra or NJP Railway Station for your onward journey.
