Considered to be
the one of the most sacred lake to both the Hindus & Buddhist. It is said
that if a leaf drops in the water surface, it is picked by a bird. A steep
road exists to reach Khecheopalri from Pemayangtse. The lake is surrounded
by a thick forest cover.
Interested tourists who are willing to stay in the peaceful environment,
there are two arrangements made by tourism department. One is trekkers hut
and the other is pilgrims hut. You can taste the local cuisine which may
include ‘Chang’ – brew made of fermented millet in Khecheopalri Lake.
