Yumthang at an altitude of 11,000 ft is located in a flat valley where sides reach up to the towering mountains. About 149 kms from Gangtok, Yumthang is also referred to as the valley of flowers, and is a naturalist’s paradise is spring. Wild flowers, Primulae & Rhododendron bathe the landscape in rich colours. The valley is the home of Shingbha Rhododendron Sanctuary with 24 species of Rhododendron. A must see here are the hot springs of Yumesamdong which is immensely popular for its healing power.
