It is a sanctuary
in South Tripura district located in south east corner of the state. It has
an area of 389.54v sq kms. Adjoining to the sanctuary there is a a vast
water reservoir covering approximately 300 sq kms.
The water reservoir attracts many resident and migratory water birds. It has
elephants, Bison, Sambhar, barking Deer, Wild Goat or Sarow apart from many
other animals and reptiles. The sanctuary can be approached via Ambassa and
Gandachara or via Ambasa – Jatanbari.
