By Road – Kolkata has good bus connectivity within the state, with the other neibouring states and with Bangladesh. Long distance buses are available throughout the day and night service is also available for Siliguri, patna, Ranchi, Rajgir, puri, Phuentsholing (Bhutan) etc. The bus for Dhaka (Bangladesh) is available from the Karunamoyee International Bus Stand in Salt Lake. All other bus service is generally available from Esplanade.

Local Transport – There are numerous options for local transport in Kolkata. One can avail Calcutta Tramways, local trains, taxis, Calcutta metro rail, shuttle auto service, hand pulled rickshaws etc.
