Kurseong is location in West Bengal, India with the following coordinates of 26°53′N 88° 17′ E / 26.88° N. The economy of the town is based primarily on education, tea and tourism. Situated on hilltop in the Himalayas at an altitude nearly that of Darjeeling. It is 50 kilometers from Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway station (NJP) and over an hour and half drive. Darjeeling is also an hour drive from Kurseong. With spectacular views this luxurious resort was converted from a colonial residence with huge rooms, unique designs and modern comforts. Surrounded by tea estates with a library and a play room this is an Ideal location for leisure holidays. Tours to places like Darjeeling, Ghoom Monastery and with ride option in Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is nice. One can visit Subhas Chandra Bose Museum; Chimney nearly 8 kilometers from Kurseong is the Chimney village. The place got its name from a 23-foot high chimney which was probably built by British during World War I. Aside from its scenic beauty the village is at a close vicinity of many places of interest including Dow Hill & Victoria Schools, etc. There are few other activities which can be organized from here. Small walk or treks are there. One more option is the visit to historical places of the town and surroundings.
